Epica Awards: Book 30 (October 2017)

I contibuted a piece to the official Epica Awards recap collection on Kenzo's "Kenzo World," which won the Film Grand Prix at the 30th annual Epica Awards. Having served on the jury that selected the piece, I wrote about that experience as well as the coverage of Kenzo's amazing run that year that I helped oversee while at Fast Company.

Clio Awards: Before "Marcel," There Was Pangaea (June 2017)


During Cannes Lion, the Publicis Groupe announced that they were taking a year off from any award show participation in order to pool all of their resources into an internal communication platform called "Marcel." It sent shockwaves through the ad industry.

But then I discovered that JWT had already done this...two years ago.

I sat down with Guerrilla Games co-founder/managing director Hermen Hulst and narrative director John Gonzalez - instead of gameplay talk, we discussed their creative process and how their new game "Horizon Zero Dawn," was a huge 180 for them as a company after the super-violent "Killzone" shooter series.
